Encoding Explained

Some campus locks require the PC Card to be encoded prior to the access being activated on the card. This requires the cardholder to insert their PC Card into one of the encoders on campus. Encoding is typically only required at the start of the Academic Year for students, and once per year for faculty and staff, unless additional access is assigned.

Encoders are available in the Card Office (Harkins, 401), Public Safety (inside front door, to the left), Phillips Memorial Library (1st floor main entrance, to the right), Ryan School of Business (Ryan, 136C), and Residence Life (Slavin, 105).
