Swipe Out Hunger
1 in 3 college students have food insecurities.
We are partnering with Swipe Out Hunger to change that.
Program Overview
Swipe Out Hunger is the leading national nonprofit committed to ending college student hunger. Swipe Out Hunger collaborates with colleges and universities to implement a range of anti-hunger programs across 135+ campus network in 40 states.
The Swipe out Hunger program at Providence College distributes meal swipes donated by Sodexo to students with food insecurities. Students may request meal swipe assistance for themselves using the Nomination/Request Form. Faculty and staff may also nominate Providence College students for the Swipe Out Hunger program using the same Nomination/Request Form.
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis and financial aid packages are not negatively impacted by participating in the program. Any traditional, full-time undergraduate student is eligible to apply for Swipe Out Hunger meal swipes, including commuter and international students. Certain restrictions apply.
How to Use Your Swipes
Students may redeem meal swipes simply by swiping/tapping their PC Card at Raymond Dining Hall, no questions asked. Students having difficulty using meal swipes may email swipeouthunger@providence.edu.
Students may see how many meal swipes they have available by logging into eAccounts using their PC Email/Network username and password.
Nomination Request Form
The Nomination/Request Form is a simple nomination/request form that requests basic information about the student. The Comment Section is optional and leaving this section blank will not impact the student’s likelihood for acceptance into the program.
Students will be contacted via email and informed of the meals made available for Raymond Dining Hall. Requests from students, faculty and staff are anonymous and kept confidential.
